Baba is a coffee shop/cocktail bar hybrid, but we prefer it at night. It’s especially useful for dates, since most of the other options around Clarendon are on the too casual end of the spectrum. It’s a classy-but-not-stuffy underground spot with a fireplace, an upstairs lounge area, a bunch of artwork on the walls, and food like crispy shrimp and pork sliders. They also have a Happy Hour worth leaving work early for ($6 cocktails, $5 glasses of wine), and if you’re still hungry after a few snacks here you can always head to their sister restaurant, Ambar, next door.
