Is there a better feeling in the world than a great first date? You both felt a connection, found common ground, and will definitely sleep with each other some time in the near future. The world is yours. And while it’s a crucial first step, a great first date can also be vastly misleading. Because now, the real work begins. Getting to actually know each other over a period of time is way harder than having mutual opinions on the new season of House Of Cards. Maybe you are soulmates, maybe you aren’t. Either way, a great first date is never the ultimate barometer.
We had an absolutely incredible first date with Norah.
The large Weho space is immaculate, with an overall decor scheme that reads something close to Moroccan steampunk. It’s modern, with some African influence, but you also kind of feel like you’re at a skate park. Breathe. It works. One by one the dishes arrived, each one better than the next. The cauliflower popcorn, the root & burrata, the pork belly & octopus. There’s nothing particularly jaw-dropping there, but each one tasted like we were eating it for the first time. The cocktails were fantastic, the service was great, and the overall vibe was upscale, but welcoming. Here’s your 8.9 rating Norah, let’s f*ck.
