Timber Pizza got its start in a wood-fired oven attached to a pickup truck, and made the DMV very happy when it graduated to full restaurant status in Petworth. The owners also quit their corporate jobs to open it, so we’re pretty sure the world is telling us that uprooting your life to focus on pizza is a solid decision.
Until we do so, you should keep eating at Timber. It’s an order-at-the-counter place, and probably the best casual pizza option in town (if you want a sit-down spot, hit up Etto). The menu also has empanadas and salads, but you’ll regret going that route once a Pretty in Pepperoni hits the table. Beware that the communal benches inside can get cramped, so try getting a seat outside, or head to the bar. Otherwise, takeout is the move.
